More on his phenomenal contributions to project management

Geoff Reiss, a prominent figure in the field of project management, passed away at the age of 75. As a respected member and Honorary Fellow of the Association for Project Management (APM), Geoff made significant contributions through his roles as an author, speaker, software designer, and mentor. He pioneered the use of programme management in the early 1990s and helped establish the APM Programme Management Specific Interest Group, for which he later became Honorary President.

Geoff's impact on the field is highlighted by his development of a software program on his Apple II that simplified project rescheduling, which was a significant advancement over traditional methods that relied on mainframe computers. This innovation led to the program's adoption by Apple and its rebranding as Pertmaster.

Beyond his technical contributions, Geoff co-founded Project Manager Today magazine and authored several influential books on project management. His engaging writing and humor brought life to topics that could often be dry, earning him the affectionate nickname "Mr. Programme Management."

Geoff's commitment extended to various other interests, including rally driving and humorous fiction writing, demonstrating his multifaceted talents. His legacy in project management is marked by his encouragement of innovative thinking and leadership. Geoff is remembered fondly by colleagues and friends for both his professional achievements and his vibrant personality. Geoff Reiss's in memoriam page
